Today is the day. I have been saying it is the day, since January 1st! The day I promised myself I would write more. And give myself grace in doing so, because I know in a month or two into the new year, with six kids, the farm, running my husband’s business, and running two businesses of my own; the once diligent writing I’d promise myself I’d take to every day, with an entry in my adorable Goat notebook (that I purchased for this very task) for every day- slowly letting to blank pages…then a lost pen one of the toddlers ran away with (to color on a wall, I’m sure!) and then the notebook gets grabbed away, forever, to be used as a doodle pad for someone else. Snuffing any flame of writing the old fashioned way…you know…with a pen and paper…out quicker than it had started. Poof.

I love to write! It’s another welcomed art form that provides a form of release; also a way to record my life for my husband and children, and for myself! I have an urge to write like I once did; to record every second of our family farm life; so that one day, I can look back and read about all the fine detailed memories I’ve had the pleasure of collecting-that will one day, slip my aged, slightly senile, brain. I can see it now-flipping through the pages of journals, reminiscing about raising a large family on our remote farm. However, it will not happen, because remember, the kids taking off with my pens and journal?

Oh! But wait! Maybe pen and paper isn’t the way for me anymore! Maybe this is my problem! I am not of the old ways any longer! I often forget (because, you know, I’m in my upper thirties) that there are more means to write, than the old pen and pad! I will shed these times of long ago! And I will take up blogging! I have no idea what I’m doing, but I do spend hours on my phone, and even more on the computer, so why not try this out?! I think I will! I am a woman of modern times now!
